Annie Pumphrey

Annie June Lavelle Pumphrey, age 93, of Steens, MS, passed away December 27, 2023, at Baptist Memorial Hospital.  A private family memorial service will be held at a later date.  Memorial Gunter Peel Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Pumphrey was born November 7, 1930, in Covington, TN, to the late John and Margaret Lavelle.  She retired from United Technologies.  Mrs. Pumphrey was a member of the 5th St Church of Christ, 7th St. Church of Christ, and presently the Steens Church of Christ.  She served as a Sunday School teacher and nursing home ministry volunteer.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Rufus Lester Pumphrey, and 3 brothers.
Survivors include her sons, Thomas Pumphrey of Steens, MS, and John Pumphrey and his wife Sheila of Taylor, AZ, grandchildren, Dustin, Chris, Eben, Josh, and Mindy, and 7 great grandchildren.
