Annelle Gunter Hochhauser, 67, Knoxville, TN passed away November 16, 2019 surrounded by her children. She was born to parents Jack Gunter and Virginia Williams Gunter on January 19, 1952 in Columbus, MS.

She treasured time spent with family, and her grandchildren were the light of her life. She was adoringly known as Mimi or Baba and deeply loved by all her family including her 12 grandchildren that range in age from 19 months to 19 years old. She enjoyed hobbies such as sewing, craft projects, scrapbooking, and painting. The Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays were her favorite time of the year – she traditionally treated her family to a delicious meal including her signature candied sweet potatoes and caramel cake. Annelle was a retired CFO who was known for her intelligence and hard work. She had a strong unwavering faith in God and often spent time studying her bible

Annelle was preceded in death by her father Jack Gunter. She is survived by her mother Virginia Williams Gunter of Knoxville, TN, her brother Jackie Gunter and spouse Martha of Greeneville, MS, and her brother Phillip Gunter and spouse Ann of Hillsborough, NC; her children Lisa Blackledge and spouse Kevin Crook of Germantown, TN, Michael Hinton and spouse Nikki of Germantown, TN, Kimberly Shields and spouse David Sr. of Maryville, TN, and Edward (Beau) Hochhauser IV and spouse Angela of Covington, TN. In addition, Annelle was a very proud grandmother known as Mimi or Baba to Reece Goff, Riley Goff, Michael Blackledge, Reece Crook, Remington Crook, Grady Hinton, Mattie Hinton, Elli Hinton, Kate Shields, David Shields Jr., Layla Hochhauser, and Isla Turner.

A visitation will be held Wednesday November 20, 2019 at Memorial Gunter & Peel Funeral Home located at 903 College Street in Columbus, MS at 9:30 to 10:30 am. A graveside service will begin at 11:00 at Friendship Cemetery located at 4th St S, Columbus, MS.
