ANNA PRESCOTT - Anna Katherine Atkins Prescott passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, January 10, 2022. She was surrounded by her loved ones and family. She was 87 years old. Funeral services will be conducted by Don Both and David Lawrence and will be held at Memorial Gunter Peel Chapel 903 College St. location on Thursday, January 13, 2022, at 2:00 PM with visitation one hour prior to the service. The interment will be at Memorial Gardens, Columbus.
Mrs. Prescott was the oldest child and only daughter of five children, born to Harold Gladstone Atkins and Maurine Morris Atkins. She was born in Columbus, MS, on October 31, 1934. She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Ed Prescott, sons, Rex (Jen) Prescott of Columbus, MS, and Ricky (Dana) Prescott of Scottsboro, AL, brothers, Ed Atkins (Joan) and Donald Atkins (Nancy), grandchildren, Meredith (Allen) Greenhaw, Blake (Chelsea) Prescott, Brittney (Dale) Kyles, and Darby (Dylan) Plowman, great grandchildren, Brantley Prescott, Reagan Greenhaw, Cale Greenhaw, Braylen Griffith, Addy Prescott, Eloise Kyles, Oliver Kyles, Hayes Plowman, and Houston Plowman, a host of nieces and nephews, and special friend, Mae Hairston. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Maurine Atkins, and brothers, Doug and Harold.
Mrs. Prescott graduated from Samford University Ida Moffet School of Nursing and was a dedicated nurse for over 30 years. Most of those years she served as Surgical Supervisor at Columbus Hospital.
Pallbearers will be Scott Atkins, Dale Atkins, Allen Greenhaw, Dylan Plowman, Dale Kyles, and Brantley Prescott
Honorary pallbearers will be Logan Buchanan and and the North Mississippi Medical Center Staff and hospice.
