Alice Faye Hemby of West Point, Mississippi

Alice Faye Perkins Hemby, 72, of Columbus, MS, died Sunday, November 24, 2019 at Dugan Memorial Home in West Point, MS. A memorial service will be held at a later date.

The daughter of Dean Warren Perkins and the late William Brandon Perkins, Alice was born March 2, 1947 in Columbus, MS. She was a graduate of Stephen D. Lee Senior High School, Class of 1965. Following graduation, she married James M. " Jimmy" Hemby, and they were married for 47 years before his death on October 12, 2012. She retired from Ross Pathology Lab, formerly Columbus Pathology, then Lab Core, after 30 years of working in the lab and the office. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her step-father Davis P. Harper, and her husband James M. " Jimmy" Hemby.

She is survived by her mother Dean Warren Perkins Harper Threet, her brother Davis P. Harper, Jr. of West Point and her sister Pamela Joy Harper Valentine of Olmsted, IL, two nephews Garrett Valentine, Jr. and Derrick Wayne Ridgeway, one niece Marlena Joy Valentine and a great nephew Garrett Valentine, III.
