Renee Gabriella Thomas Terry, age 87, of Columbus, MS, died December 31, 2009, at Cogburn Rehabilitation & Health Center in Huntsville, AL. Funeral services will be Saturday, January 2, 2010, at 2:00 PM at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Father Robert Dore officiating. The interment will immediately follow at Friendship Cemetery. Visitation will also be Saturday, January 2, 2010, one hour prior to the service at Memorial Funeral Home. Mrs. Terry was born February 27, 1922, in Calais, France to the late Gabriel and Augusta Waterlot Thomas. During WWII she met and married an American serviceman, Clinton S. Terry of Courtland, AL. The couple moved to Columbus in 1948 and Renee has lived in Columbus since that time. She retired from Seminole Manufacturing after working in the office for over 25 years. Mrs. Terry was preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Simone, and her husband of 43 years, Clinton Terry. She is survivied by her daughter, Patricia Anne Holmes(Mike) of Huntsville, AL. Mrs. Terry, who was affectionatley known as Mee Mee to her grandchildren and great grandchildren, is also survived by her granddaughter Tracee Michelle King and her husband Matt of Arlington, TN and grandson Michael Brenton Lancaster and his wife Amy of Hendersonville, TN, her great grandchildren Renee and Andrew King and Blake and Emma Kate Lancaster, and her beloved Sheltie granddogs, Kodo and Princess. Pallbearers will be Brent Lancaster, Matt King, Bill Lancaster, Bob Lancaster, Bob Raymond, and Dick Mahoney.
