Dr. Miles MacGran Columbus Mississippi - Dr. Miles MacGran 86 died March 1, 2006 at his residence in Columbus. Dr. MacGran was born in on May 4, 1919 in St Paul Minnesota. He was a language professor who taught French, Spanish, and Italian at several universities including Mississippi University for Women, The University of Texas, Bellarmine College, St. Edward's University, and retired from teaching at the University of Alabama. He was a U.S. Army Veteran serving in WWII and was an avid reader and nature lover but loved his family above anything else. He was preceded in death by his parents John and Marie Quinn Geisenhoff. Funeral services will be Friday March 3, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. from Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with the Dr. Jerry Davis officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to service at the funeral home. Survivors include his Wife of 58 years Anne P. MacGran of Columbus MS, Daughters: Katherine Bachman (Randy) of Englewood CO, Mary MacGran (Fred) of Studio City CA, Ellen MacGran of Wilmette IL, Margaret M. Foster of Atlanta GA. Son: Patrick MacGran (Niki) of Austin TX. Grandchildren: Gretchen Javaid, Heidi Ellen Tierney, Julie Valerio, James Monge, John Monge, and Jared Foster. 6 Great Grandchildren Pallbearers will be family members and friends.
