HOMER GARRARD Homer Lee Garrard age 82 died Sunday, March 02, 2014 at his residence in Columbus. Services will be held Thursday March 6, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at First Assembly of God Church with Rev. Derek Youngblood and Rev. Jody Gurley officiating, burial will follow at Memorial Gardens of Columbus. Visitation will be held Thursday one hour prior to service at the church. Mr. Garrard was born on Saturday, October 03, 1931 in Noxapater, MS to the late John Weldon and Josephine Durran Garrard. He was a member and Deacon at First Assembly of God Church. He was an avid fisherman and loved to pontoon. He was a truck driver for Beneke Corporation, and later retired as a truck driver for Dowdle Gas. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his son, Tommy Joe Garrard, and his grandson, Jason Hitchcock. Survivors include: His wife: Helen A. Garrard, Columbus MS One Daughter: Kim Hitchcock (Elvin), Columbus, MS Three Sons: Donnie Garrard, Columbus, MS Jerry Garrard, Columbus, MS Toby Garrard, Columbus, MS Three Brothers: Wesley Garrard, Louisville, MS Alvin Garrard (Audine), Carthage, MS Willis Garrard (Mavis), Vicksburg, MS Grandchildren: Robbie Garrard Chris Garrard (Lara) Janie Skelton (Lance) Rodney Garrard Sylvia Wedel (Gabe) Brittany Garrard Blaine Garrard Paxton Garrard Jason Hitchcock Great Grand Children: Sophie Garrard Pneope Garrard Lanie Skelton Aubrey Wedel Avery Jack Wedel Addison Wedel Aiden Wedel Brody Garrard Strickland The Pallbearers will be: Rodney Garrard, Robbie Garrard, Chris Garrard, Blaine Garrard, Lance Skelton, Rodney Garrard, and Gabe Wedel.
