Ronald T. Mitchell, 62, of Columbus died January 22, 2008 at Baptist Memorial Hospital Golden Triangle in Columbus. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Memorial Funeral Home. His service will be held Saturday, January 26, 2008 at 2:00pm at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 2808 Ridge Road in Columbus. The services will be presided over by Bishop Steven Sweat, with Robert Honsinger officiating. Interment will follow at Memorial Gardens in Columbus with military honors. Visitation will be held Saturday from noon until service time at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Ron was born on January 30, 1945 in Adrian Oregon to Tharvel (Tom) R. Mitchell and the late Effie Payne Meyer. After graduating from Adrian High School in 1963, Ron entered the Marine Corp and served honorably in Vietnam from September 1965-69. He worked for Valley National Bank of Arizona for 18 years before starting his own company. At the time of Ron's death, he was CEO of his corporation, Cammate Systems Inc., in Chandler Arizona. Recently, Ron and his wife, Linda, had taken leave from the daily operations of Cammate, leaving his oldest son James managing in his stead, to relocate to Columbus; where they have become very involved in service to their family and their church. Ron has also served with great joy in the Boy Scouts of America programs over the last 12 years. Ron is survived by his father Tom Mitchell of Show Low, AZ; wife Linda Ann Sparks Mitchell of Columbus, his daughter Rhona Henry (Jeff) of Romeoville, IL; sons James Mitchell (Crystal) of Phoenix, AZ and Seth Mitchell of Chandler, AZ; grandchild Mia Mitchell; sisters Karen Cluff (Dwight) of Show Low, AZ, and Cheryl Weaver (Robert) of Phoenix, AZ; brothers Tony Mitchell (Sandi) of Mesa, AZ and Steven Mitchell (Michelle) of Surprise, AZ. Pallbearers will be Dwight Cluff, Tony Mitchell, Robert Weaver, Steven Mitchell, Charlie Coggins, Ronald Keys, Michael (Tony) Taloney, and Justin Taloney. Honorary pallbearers will be James Mitchell, Seth Mitchell, Jeff Henry, Buford Sparks, Michael B. Taloney, James Sparks, and Franklin Sparks.
