Pearl T. Smith Columbus MS - Pearl T. Smith 86 died March 4, 2006 at Baptist Memorial Hospital Golden Triangle. Mrs. Smith was born on October 2, 1919 to the late Joe and Minnie Vincent Townsend in Lauderdale County Mississipp and was reared in the Pine Spring Community. She was a member of Broadacres United Methodist Church, a homemaker and a professional seamstress. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years Lamar Smith, her brothers Aaron and Mabra Townsend, one sister Sadie Baker and her son-in-law Gene Wood. Funeral services will be Tuesday March 7, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. from Broadacres United Methodist Church with the Rev. Ron Thomas and Rev. Curtis Bray officiating. Visitation will be Monday from 6 until 8 at Memorial Funeral Home. Survivors include Daughter: Linda S. Wood of Columbus MS, Brother: Howard Townsend of Meridian MS. Step-Grandchildren- Randy Wood (Donna) Sarasota FL and Cathy Taylor (John) of Jackson MS nephews- Gerald Townsend (Annette) of Cochran GA, Larry Townsend (Liz) of Hattiesburg MS, Tim Townsend (Cherie) of Atlanta GA, Mark Townsend (Beverly) of Wylie TX, one niece Sandra Scardino (Leonard) of Hattiesburg MS, and her best friend Mary Anna Nelson Pallbearers will be Gerald Townsend, Larry Townsend, Mark Townsend, Tim Townsend, Chris Townsend, Dennis Smith, John Smith Honorary Pallbearers will be David Nelson, Bobby Marshall, Dr. Frank Dailey, Dr. Wail Alnas, therapist and staff of Aurora Australis Lodge Memorials may be made to Gideons International P.O.
