JIM BOONE James Sterling "Jim" Boone, age 67, of Columbus, MS, passed away December 18, 2011, at Baptist Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be Wednesday, December 21, 2011, at 2:00 PM at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Phillip Blaylock officiating and Rev. Earnest Flake assisting. The interment will immediately follow at Memorial Gardens of Columbus. Visitation will be Tuesday, December 20, 2011, from 6:00-9:00 PM at Memorial Funeral Home. Mr. Boone was born July 30, 1944, in Louisville, MS, to the late Lewis and Cordie Flake Boone. He worked for many years as a self employed master carpenter and truck driver. Mr. Boone was of the Pentecostal faith. Survivors include his wife, Nell Boone of Columbus, MS, sons, Danny Boone and his wife Claudia, and Scott Boone and his wife Debbie, all of Columbus, MS, daughter, Vickie Murphree and her husband Douglas of Columbus, MS, brothers, William Boone and Gary Boone, both of Columbus, MS, sister, Mary Taylor of Columbus, MS, 9 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Danny Boone, II, Dusten Ledford, Corey Boone, Bo Helton, James Pickens, and Kevin Minor. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. James Stone and the staff of Cardiologist Associates of Tupelo, MS.
