MARGARET LANCASTER Margaret Reeves Lancaster age 86 died Friday, September 13, 2013 at Trinity Healthcare Center in Columbus. Services will be held Sunday, September 15, 2013 at 2:00 PM at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Shawn Parker officiating, burial will follow at Friendship Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service at the funeral home. Mrs. Lancaster was born on October 21, 1926 in Becker, MS to the late Roy and Sallie Scott Reeves. She was a member of First Baptist Church Columbus. She was a 1943 graduate of Aberdeen High School and Hawkins Business School in Memphis, TN. After completing business school, she worked at Ellis-Bagwell Drug Company in Memphis for 2 years. In 1946 she married her late husband of 64 years, James A. Lancaster and moved to Columbus where she was the executive secretary at the National Bank of Commerce. She then worked for Wallin Lumber Company, and later joined her husband in the Lancaster Insurance Agency. She was a former member and past president of the Pilot Club and a former member of the Redwing Garden Club and the Columbus Arts Council. A loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister, she enjoyed gardening, sewing, cooking, and painting. In addition to her parents and her husband she was preceded in death by her sister, Dorothy Gibbs, and her brother Ellis Reeves. Survivors include: One Daughter: Rita Brownlee (Dennis) Columbus, MS One Son: Dale Lancaster (Ida), Madison, MS Seven grandchildren: Angela Van Asselt (Lee), Hoover, AL; Hollie Sumrall (Clint), Ridgeland, MS; Jordan Estes (Andrew), New York, NY; Jimmy Lancaster, Madison, MS; Jenna Stricklen (Casey), Vestavia, AL; Jake Lancaster, (Loren), Birmingham, AL and Bethany Brownlee, Jackson, MS. Four great grandchildren: Hayes Lancaster, Ethan Van Asselt, Reeves Sumrall Harrison Sumrall Family members will serve as pallbearers In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to: Alzheimer's Association : MS Chapter 196 Charmant Place, Ste 4 Ridgeland MS 39157 or First Baptist Church Building Fund P.O.
