Sandra Wilson Hornsby, age 64, of Columbus, MS, passed away September 25, 2013, at Baptist Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be Saturday, September 28, 2013, at 3:00 PM at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Charlie Whitney officiating. The interment will immediately follow at Furnace Hill Cemetery in Vernon, AL. Visitation will be Saturday, September 28, 2013, from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM at Memorial Funeral Home. Mrs. Hornsby was born August 12, 1949, in Birmingham, AL, to the late Terrell and Ebbie Gunnels Wilson. She retired after working for over twenty years as a bookkeeper for Lowndes County. She was an active member of East End Baptist Church where she served in children's ministry for many years and belonged to the choir and WOM. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Barba Wilson and Judy Parrott, and nephew, C. A. Simmons, III. Survivors include her husband, William G. "Bill" Hornsby of Columbus, MS, daughter, Charlene Cooke and her husband Marsh of Columbus, MS, sister, Linda Simmons and her husband Bubba of Caledonia, MS, grandchildren Gibson Isabella Cooke and William Dalton Cooke, nieces and nephews, Beth Parrott and her husband Jerry, Scott Parrott and his wife Jill, Jennifer Johns and her husband Trevor, Lisa Baucom and Alan Baucom, and great nephews, T. J. Johns, Andrew Johns, and Grant Parrott. Pallbearers will be family and friends. Memorials may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Association of Mississippi, 2630 Southerland Dr., Jackson, MS, 39216.
