MARVIN F. SEAVEY Marvin Flanders Seavey, age 77, of Columbus, died Sunday, July 24, 2011 at his residence. Visitation will be held at Memorial Funeral Home Tuesday, July 26, 2011, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. A private graveside service with U.S. Air Force Honors will take place at Friendship Cemetery. LTC Seavey was born on Sunday, August 13, 1933, in Quincy, MA to the late Mabel and Harry Seavey. He entered the Air Force on June 30, 1954 as an Aviation Cadet. Upon completion of Navigator training he held numerous assignments as a navigator including service on the B52 during the Vietnam War. He retired from the Air Force on June 30, 1973. His military decorations include Meritorious Service Medals, numerous Air Medals and the Vietnam Gallantry Cross with Palm. Following retirement from the Air Force LTC Seavey worked as a simulator operator at Columbus Air Force Base. In addition to his parents, LTC Seavey was preceded in death by his brother, Harry Seavey and sister and brother-in-law, Marilyn and Ralph Rogers.
