Patty Anne Taylor

Patty Anne Taylor, 1922-2008 Patty Anne Taylor died February 27, 2008, at the home of her sister in Birmingham, AL. She was born in Minneapolis, MN, to William Randolph Taylor and Stella Prewitt Thurston Taylor on July 23, 1922, although she lived most of her life in Columbus, MS. She was a graduate of Mississippi State College for Women now Mississippi University for Women. She had a career in and love for hospital administration. She worked for Doster Hospital in Columbus, MS, Grant Hospital in Chicago, IL, and as the Director of Medical Records for The Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis, TN. She returned to Columbus in 1969 to work as Head of the Medical Records Department at Golden Triangle Regional Medical Center from which she retired in 1985. Patty was a life long member of First United Methodist Church. She was a member of Circle #2, Stuckenschneider Sunday School Class, and active in other areas of the church. She was a member of The Columbians, The Literary Club and The Rose Club. She is survived by her twin sister Mary Taylor Lowery of Birmingham, AL, and her brother Robert Pendleton Taylor of Columbus as well as nieces Patricia Lowery Hiden (William) of Birmingham, Jane Lowery Christopher of Columbus, GA, and nephews William Randolph Taylor,II (Rebecca) of Columbus, and Robert Pendleton Taylor, Jr. (Renee) of Tuscaloosa. She is also survived by her great nieces and nephews Eleanor Taylor Christopher, Caroline Jane Christopher, William Mudd Hiden, Jr., Taylor Gore Hiden, Stephanie Taylor Pate (Robert) and Robert Pendleton Taylor III (Laura) as well as great, great niece and nephew Ginger Pate and Bryce Pate. Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 1, 2008, at 2:00pm at First United Methodist Church, Columbus, MS with Dr. Sam Morris, officiating. The visitation will begin at 1:00 at the church. Pallbearers will be Billy Hiden Sr., Billy Hiden Jr., Bill Taylor, Bob Taylor, Robert Pate, and Bruce Hufford. Memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society, 1380 Livingston Lane, Jackson, Ms 392113 or First United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 32, Columbus, Ms 39703.
