Fred Humbers, 70, of Caledonia passed away July 7, 2005, at Baptist Memorial Hospital- Golden Triangle in Columbus. Services will be Monday, July 11, 2005, at 2 p.m. at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Don Harding officiating. Visitation will be Sunday, July 10, 2005, from 6 to 9 p.m. at Memorial Funeral Home. Mr. Humbers was born Sept. 14, 1934, in Lamar County, Ala., the son of the late John David and Dena Moore Humbers. He retired from Baldor Electric after working there for 21 years. He enjoyed gardening, and watching softball and watching wrestling. He was preceded in death by four sisters, Beatrice Herron, Ollie Mae Allen, Gladys Rector, Almer Hall; three brothers, Toll Humbers, Price Humbers, and Frank Humbers. He was a loving husband, father,grandfather, and great-grandfather. Survivors include his wife of 51 years Barbara Anita Russell Humbers of Caledonia; daughter, Charlotte Cantrell of Caledonia; sons, Freddie (Linda) Humbers of Tishomingo, Jason (Carolyn) Humbers of Columbus; several neices and nephews; nine grandchildren, four great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Matt Egger, Tranpas Criddle, Sean Lytle, Scott Sanderson, Larry Hall, Charles Ray Hall, and Steve Humbers. Honorary pallbearers will be Members of Sweet williams Softball Team, Members of Hit Squad Softball Team, Johnny Cantrell, Charlie Cantrell, Dr. John Whitecar, Dr. Brad Brown, Pete Cantrell, John Bryant, Joey Gardner and Gene Williams
