JIMMY RAY BIRMINGHAM Jimmy Ray Birmingham Age 72 died January 29, 2008 at Baptist Memorial Hospital Golden Triangle. Services will be held at Memorial Funeral Home on Sunday, February 3, 2008 at 3:00 PM with Rev. Terry Criswell Officiating Visitation will be at Memorial Funeral Home on Sunday, February 3, 2008 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM Mr. Birmingham was born on November 4, 1935 in Nettleton MS to the late Clyde and Gladys Hester Birmingham. He was a U.S. Army Veteran serving during the Korean Conflict and received the Purple Heart and Medal of Valor. He was a retired sand blaster and painting foreman for D.S. McClanahan and Kerr-McGee Chemical for a total of 31 years. Survivors include his wife of 26 years Christine Birmingham of Steens, Miss. and their children Samantha age 9 and William age 6 of Steens his daughter Janice Bufford and her husband Earl and their children Michael and Brandi of Lucedale MS, his son Mike and his wife Tammy, Mike's son Brandon and Tammy's daughter Katie Hall and great grandchild Tyler Hall all of Winfield AL, and his wonderful friends, Richard Hubbard, Lyn and Paul Lavender, and Amanda and George Goff and their families of Columbus. The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Lance Busch and the Critical Care Staff at Baptist Memorial Hospital Golden Triangle.
