Mrs. Dorothy Louise Stapp, age 77, died Friday, May 18, 2012 at her home in Steens, MS. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Memorial Funeral Home. Visitation will be Saturday night May 19, 2012 6:00 PM -8:00 PM at Memorial Funeral Home. Services will be Sunday, May 20, 2012 at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Memorial Funeral Home, with Rev. Don Harding officiating. Burial will immediately follow in Furnace Hill Cemetery in Vernon, AL. The daughter of the late Travis Lee and Dovie Rae Robertson Pennington, Mrs. Stapp was born June 19, 1934 in Lamar County, AL. She was formerly employed by McCoy Manufacturing in Caledonia and retired after many years of employment from Chromalox in Vernon, AL. She was a member of Kolola Springs Baptist Church. She was predeceased by her husband Johnny Brooks Stapp, who died in February, 2011. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Vickie and Wendel Chadwick , Caledonia, MS and her sons and daughters-in "law Terry and Barbara Stapp, Sulligent, AL; Mike and Gail Stapp, Caledonia, MS and Wade and Teresa Stapp, Columbus, MS. She is also survived by her sister Gerthelene Reynolds, Steens, MS and her brother and sister-in-law Walter Lee and Annette Pennington, Columbus, MS, ten grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Pallbearers will be grandsons Jonathan Stapp, Cody Stapp, Corey Stapp, Matthew D. Stapp, Michael C. Stapp, and Shane Chadwick. Honorary pallbearers will be the men of Kolola Springs Baptist Church.
