JACK BRETT Jack Thomas Brett, age 84, of Columbus, MS, passed away February 13, 2011, at North Mississippi Medical Center in West Point, MS. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, February 20, 2011, at 2:00 PM at the Stanley Center of Trinity Place Retirement Community, 300 Airline Rd., Columbus, MS, 39702. Rev. Ron McDouglald and Rev. Jim Beam-Ingram will officiate with Memorial Funeral Home directing. Mr. Brett was born January 29, 1927, in Crestview, FL, to the late Hal and Essie Robinson Brett. He was a graduate of West Point High School where he was valedictorian of his class and a graduate of the University of Mississippi. Mr. Brett was an Eagle Scout and veteran of WWII serving in the United States Army. He retired in 1986 from the U. S. Labor Department as a Director of Field Operations and was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church. Survivors include his brother, William E. Brett of Columbus, MS, and sisters, Ruth Coleman of Long Beach, MS, and Lillie Mae Stafford of West Point, MS, and several nieces and nephews.
