Mrs.Avis Adams Carley, 76, passed away Saturday, September 9, 2006 at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle. Funeral services are Monday September 11, 2006 at 11:00 am at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Doug Moore officiating. Visitation is one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Salem Cemetery in Macon, MS. Mrs. Carley was born on April 6, 1930 near Macon, MS to the late Olen and Neice Elizabeth Slawson. She was a seamstress for many years, and later became a supervisor at Seminole Manufacturing (American Trouser) where she worked for 54 years. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Carley was preceded in death by her first husband Harold Earl Adams and her second husband Tommy Carley. She is survived by her daughter, Nancy Adams Suggs (Bill) of Columbus, MS; sons, Harold Earl Adams, Jr. (Brenda) of Columbus, MS and Anthony Dewitt Adams (Betsy) of Denver, CO; sisters Margaret Teltshik of Floresville, TX and Izora Haggard of Royal Oak, MI; brother, Tyson Slawson of Denver,CO; five grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Ken Smith, Joey Purvis, Keith Simmons, Josh Adams, James Fulgam, and Franky Odom. Memorials may be made to The American Lung Association 353 North Mart Plaza Jackson, Ms 39206.
