Charles Scott McIntyre age 46 died Sunday, October 18, 2009 at Baptist Memorial Hospital - Golden Triangle in Columbus, MS. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Memorial Funeral Home. A Mass of Resurrection will be held Wednesday, October 21, 2009 at 11:00 AM at Annunciation Catholic Church with Father Robert Dore officiating. Burial will follow at Friendship Cemetery in Columbus. Visitation will be held at Annunciation Catholic Church Wednesday, October 21, 2009 from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM. Scott was born on Friday, August 16, 1963 in Columbus, MS to the late William Henry and Dorothy Ray McIntyre. A lifelong resident of Columbus, he was a member of Annunciation Catholic Church. He graduated from Heritage Academy and attended Mississippi State University, where he was a member of Sigma Chi Fraternity. He was a Master Plumber and worked in the family business McIntyre Plumbing most of his life. Scott was a beloved husband, son, brother, uncle cousin and friend. He was an humble man with a truly kind soul, and he never met a stranger, be it man or animal. An enthusiastic chef, he ejoyed being on the cooking team, fly-fishing and Sunday rides in the prairie. He was a great story-teller, with an infectious laugh that will not soon be forgotten. Scott will be deeply missed by those who were blessed enough to know him. He was preceded in death by his father William H. McIntyre and sister -in-law Anna H. McIntyre. He is survived by his wife Deena Matthews McIntyre, and his mother Dorothy Ray McIntyre, both of Columbus; brothers William H. McIntyre, Jr. (Susan) , New Orleans, LA, Sam Ray McIntyre, Dr. Thomas Michael McIntyre (Wanda), and his twin Robert Green McIntyre, all of Columbus, sister Marie McIntyre Barrett, Randleman, NC, mother-in-law and father-in-law Junie and Woody Matthews, brother -in-law Andrew Matthews, all of Columbus and sister-in-law Libby Matthews of Jackson. He is also survived by an uncle Sam Ray (Charlene) of Yazoo City, a nephew Thomas McIntyre, nieces Evelyn Claire McIntyre, Frances Knight (Will) , Rowanne McKnight (Jay) and Sarah Barrett, and numerous McIntyre, Ray and Matthews cousins. The Pallbearers will be Greg Andrews, Cal Howard, Brent Klutts, Andrew Matthews, Thomas McIntyre, and Mike Stone . In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Columbus-Lowndes Humane Society, P. Box 85, Columbus, MS 39703 or to Annunciation Catholic Church, 823 College St., Columbus, Ms 39701.
