Mrs. Gladys McCool Stinson, 84, died Wednesday, April 6, 2011 at the University of Alabama- Birmingham Hospital, Birmingham, AL. Arrangements have been entrusted to Memorial Funeral Home. Services will be held at 3:00 P.M Saturday, April 9, 2011 at Mt. Zion Baptist Church with the Rev. Joel Fredrick and Rev. Steve Lammons officiating. Visitation will be held from 1:30-3:00 P.M. at Mt. Zion Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Mrs. Stinson was born December 13, 1926 in Pickens County, AL to the late Lige and Estelle White McCool. She was a resident of Lowndes County and a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by husband, Charles L. Stinson, and son Charles L. Stinson, Jr. She is survived by her younger sister, Minnie Henson of Columbus, MS; son, Michael L. Stinson (Leah) of Philadelphia, MS; daughter, Patricia Stinson Allen (Terry) of Ripley, MS; daughter-in-law, Mary Todd Stinson of Woodstock, Al; grandchildren Shannon Stinson Frederick (Joel) of Birmingham, AL; Shawn Stinson (Kristi) of Jasper, AL; Leslie Stinson of Mobile, AL; Eric Allen (Beth) of Birmingham, AL; Tanner Allen (Caroline) of Birmingham, AL; Emily Stinson of Kalamazoo, MI; Briana Stinson Petty (Taylor) of Philadelphia, MS; and Walton Stinson of Philadelphia, MS; and precious great grandchildren Isaiah Frederick, Caris Frederick, Elijah Frederick, Ethan Stinson, Gavin Stinson, Cade Allen, Sydney Allen, Charlie Allen and a host of nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Raymond McCool, Bruce McCool, Jimmy Henson, Wayne Henson, Tony Smith, Kenneth Reynolds, Billy Shaw, and Winford Sanderson.
