Georgeanne Brownlee Green, age 80, of Columbus, MS, passed away November 30, 2012, at her residence. Funeral services will be Monday, December 3, 2012, at 2:00 PM at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Shawn Parker officiating. The interment will immediately follow at Mt. Vernon Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday, December 3, 2012, from noon until 2:00 PM at Memorial Funeral Home. Mrs. Green was born August 7, 1932, in the New Hope Community of Columbus, MS, to the late George Washington and Louella Robertson Brownlee. She was a 1950 graduate of New Hope High School and attended MSCW. Mrs. Green worked for many years as a vocational training instructor for the Acts Center of Columbus and Ellisville State School System. She was a member of First Baptist Church and in addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George B. Green, Jr. Survivors include her sons, George B. Green, III and Carwin E. Green, both of Columbus, MS, and daughter, Luanne Green of Columbus, MS, grandsons Dillon and James, and great grandson Michael. Pallbearers will be Jimmy Williams, Victor Lancaster, Vernon Gregory, Andy Pettit, George Smith, and Carl Edwards. Honorary pallbearers will be Tim Hudson, David Pate, Bill Caldwell, Fayette Burns, Jimmy Brownlee, Danny Smith, and the staff of Baptist Memorial Hospice Program.
