Forrest Elzey Bobo

Forrest Elzey Bobo, 79, died Dec. 27, 2010, at his residence. Visitation will be Wednesday, December 29, 2010, at 1-2 p.m. at Memorial Funeral Home in Columbus, Mississippi Services will follow at 2 PM with the Rev. Joe Coggins officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Mr. Bobo was born February 22, 1931, in Tupelo, Mississippi to the late Forrest L. and Flora H. Bobo. He was a retiree of South Central Bell. He was also a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving during the Korean War. In addition to his parents, Mr. Bobo was preceded in death by his sister, Ruby Bobo Goza; brother, Merle Leon Bobo; and brother in law, Earl Blair Goza. He is survived by his wife, Helen Miller Bobo; daughter, Laura Bobo Dobard (Eric) of Covington, Louisiana; sons, Joel E. Bobo (Cindy) of Hope Mills, North Carolina and Robert A. Bobo (Lea Ellen) of Columbus, Mississippi; and four grandchildren, Kristopher, Brittany, Kristan, and Chandler. Pallbearers are Dennis Smith, Danny Goza, Max Miller, J.D. Lewis, Eric Dobard, and Mitch Garner. Memorials may be made to the Palmer Home in Columbus, or the New Salem Baptist Church in Caledonia.
