J. ROY JOHNSON Jacob Roy Johnson age 97, died Thursday, November 17, 2011 at Baptist Memorial Hospital Golden Triangle in Columbus. Services will be held Sunday, November 20, 2011 at 2:30 PM at Gunter & Peel Funeral Home Chapel with Minister Billy Ferguson and Shawn Dickey officiating. Burial will follow at Christian Chapel Cemetery in Lamar County, AL. Visitation will be held Sunday from 1:00 p.m. until service time at the funeral home. Mr. Johnson was born on Thursday, October 29, 1914 in Lamar County, AL to the late Jacob Finton and Donnie Rowland Johnson. He was a member of the Columbus Church of Christ, serving as an elder for 28 years. His last 35 years of employment was with D.S. McClanahan and Son. Survivors include: His wife of 78 years, Vadus A. Johnson Columbus MS One Daughter: Betty Farris, Vernon, AL Three Sons: J. Wallace Johnson (Brenda), Clanton, AL Tommy G. Johnson (Nancy), Columbus, MS John D. Johnson (Rosanne), Brandon, MS Mr. Johnson is survived by eight grandchildren, and six great grandchildren. The Pallbearers will be: Tommy G. Johnson, II, Louis D. Johnson, James W.
