During Stephens lifetime he lived in Kolola Springs, MS, Jackson, MS, St. Petersburg, FL and Norfolk, VA. Stephen was a joy to behold. Stephen had a rough start in life. His life expectancy was a few hours to six years, but with the grace of God and loving care of his parents he brought joy to everyone for 38 years. Stephen graduated from the Mississippi University for Woman, Center for Special Children. Everyone Stephen ever met or knew was touched in a special way. He loved adventure, flying, motorcycles, and any thing else with speed. He was an avid television critic. He knew every episode of Walker, Texas Ranger, Knightrider, and Chips. He was forced to watch cooking and decorating shows with his mother. His daddy would give him a reprieve from those when he came home from work. He also enjoyed the televised services of First Baptist Church and Love Worth Finding each Sunday with his daddy. He was always glad when his mother left for a shopping trip, because he knew he would be able to watch his shows. One of his favorite things was to get cards filled with greenbacks. He was not very excited about checks; he did not trust his mother to cash them. He knew that she sometimes misplaced them. Stephen was not able to speak words, but his smile and eyes could say volumes. He could not walk but he traveled coast to coast by all of the people he met or people that heard about him. His condition and his limitations never interfered with his joy for life. Stephen was a happy and joyful person who lived everyday with excitement. He will be missed by everyone who knew him and loved him. He was preceded in death by his maternal great grandfather Hoyle Grant, paternal grandparents James E. Reese and Sadie Reese Pennington and his uncle Paul DiCicco.
