Rosylind Dodson " Polly" Moorhead, age 84, of Columbus, Miss., died Tuesday, October 30, 2007, at Windsor Place Nursing Home in Columbus, Miss. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Memorial Funeral Home. A Graveside service will be held at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery at 10:30 AM Saturday, November 3, 2007, with Rev. Jearl Hunley officiating. Interment will also be at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery in Columbus, Miss. The daughter of the late Wesley Molloy and Grace Smith Dodson , Mrs. Moorhead was born August 26, 1923 in Columbus. She was employed at the now - closed Tate's Tavern on Hwy 82 East when it was in its' heyday. Many will remember her as the long-time manager of Ed's Grill in downtown Columbus. She later worked in Food service at M.U.W. She was predeceased by her parents and her brother, Rev. Leslie Dodson. She is survived by her daughter Kathy Newland (Tommy) of Columbus; her son Jim Gardner (Daphne) of Starr, N.C. , grandsons Payton Birk, Todd Birk, Lee Newland, Jeffrey Newland , and Kevin Gardner and granddaughters Kim Noe, Kim Miller and Dawn Harris. She is also survived by 8 great grandchildren. Memorials may be made to Palmer Home for Children, P.O. Box 746, Columbus, Ms 39703 or the donor's favorite charity.
