Katherine J. Hagood, age 92, died January 30, 2013 at Aurora Health and Rehabilitation in Columbus, MS. Graveside services for Mrs. Hagood will be 2:00pm Friday, February 1, 2013 at Memorial Gardens in Columbus, MS with Rev. Roy Hawkins officiating and Memorial Funeral Home directing. Mrs. Hagood was born in Columbus, MS to the late Ramie Lollar Jewell and Howard Jewell, Sr. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and was a seamstress at Seminole Manufacturing Company for 52 years. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John D. Hagood; son, Wayne Hagood; daughter-in-law, Jewel Hagood; sisters, Helen Louise Jewell, Edna Earl Jewell, Shirley Jewell Beatty; brothers, Howard "Bubba" Jewell, Jr., Robert "Bob" Henry Jewell, Jessie Thomas "J.T." Jewell, and Albert Wayne Jewell. Mrs. Jewell is survived by her sons, Ronnie Hagood (Pattie) of Columbus, MS; Charles Hagood of Huntsville, AL; sister, Betty Joyce Whaley of Columbus, MS; and eight grandchildren.
