Mrs. Lessie Irene Rosser Fowler, 84 ,of Columbus, MS died Saturday, December 6, 2008 at Home Place of Columbus. Graveside services will be Monday, December 8, 2008 at 2:00 PM at Walnut Grove Cemetery in Lamar County, Al with Rev. Jimmy Ray officiating. Mrs. Fowler was born on Wednesday, August 20, 1924, in Noxubee County, MS to the late Ben Walker and Velma Johnson Rosser. She retired from United Technologies in Columbus and was a member of McBee Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Norman D. Fowler, her son Mike Varner, brother Rosser Johnson and sisters Mable Bryant and Frances Holley. Mrs. Fowler is survived by her daughters Gayle Gore (Gene) of Columbus, Miss.and Ima Boykin ( Jimmy) of Macon, Miss., one sister Mary Jane Vernon of Columbus, Ms., 8 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.
