Harry Eugene Yeatman, age 81, of Columbus died Friday, September 24, 2010 at Baptist Memorial Hospital Golden Triangle in Columbus. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Memorial Funeral Home. Visitation will be held Sunday, September 26, 2010 from 6:00 PM -8:00 PM at Memorial Funeral Home. The funeral service will be at Beersheba Cumberland Presbyterian Church, where he was a member, Monday, September 27, 2010 at 11:00 AM. Rev. Terry Maynard will officiate at the funeral. Burial, with full military honors, will follow immediately in the church cemetery. The son of the late Thomas Halbert and Louise Price Yeatman, Mr. Yeatman was born July 19, 1929 in Longview, MS. He enlisted in the US Navy in August, 1948 and spent 9 years on active duty. He then enlisted in the US Air Force and served 14 years on active duty as a Communications/Electrical Systems Supt. He moved his family to Columbus in 1969 and retired with the rank of SMSgt from the Air Force at Columbus AFB August 31, 1971. A longtime member of Beersheba, Mr. Yeatman was also a member of the VFW and the AFSA. After he retired from the USAF, he was employed at Lowndes County Radial Tire and Alford Drugs. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother James E. Yeatman and 2 sisters Dorothy L. Brown and Virginia Graham. He is survived by his wife Lois D. Yeatman, his son Gerie E. Yeatman, and his 2 daughters Cheryl L. Forrester (Tommy) and Rhonda G. Clawson (James), all of Columbus. He is also survived by a brother Thomas H. Yeatman, Jr. (Peggy) and a brother-in-law Herbert Graham (Frances), all of Columbus, a brother-in-law Roland Cantrell (Mary) of Guin, AL., granddaughters Kali Harris ( Mike), Sarah Forrester, Lindsey Nabors Cosgrove (Joel), grandsons Matthew Forrester(Jennifer Fedi), Jacob Forrester and Caleb Nabors, three great grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Keith McGee, Jay Verrett, Tommy Yeatman, Bruce Blaise, James E. Yeatman, Steve Graham, Todd Graham, Dupree Galloway and Lenny Ring. Honorary pallbearers will be Arvis Gilbert, Wayne Eaves, John Lumsden, Buzz Soule, Marion Watson, Dr. Brad Brown and Dr. Lance Busch and Staff.
