ELDRIDGE NORRIS Eldridge Norris (USAF, TSGT, Ret.) died March 11, 2008, at his Residence in Caledonia. Services will be held at The First Church of The Nazarene on Friday, March 14, 2008 at 10:00 AM with Pastor Kenny Gardner Officiating burial with full military honors will follow at Egger Cemetery near Caledonia. Visitation will be at Memorial Funeral Home on Thursday, March 13, 2008 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Eldridge Norris age 80 passed form this life on March 11, 2008 at his residence in Caledonia. He was born on March 3, 1928 in Alabama and was the eldest child of the late Richard Pearson Hobson Norris and Madgie Lindsey Norris. He was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene for over 30 years where he was actively involved in the construction of the present building and supportive of its ministry. He began his military career at age 16 during which time he served in the Army, Navy, and retired from active duty in the Air Force in 1967. He served his country all over the world most notably during the occupation of Japan after WWII. After his military service he returned with his wife and family to his native Mississippi where he was employed by General Tire and Rubber Company (now Omnova) and retired from there after 20 years. He enjoyed working in his garden and sharing it's produce with his family and friends. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his 1st wife of 55 years Elna Yant Norris. survivors include: Wife-Billie J. Norris of Caledonia, Miss.
