VIRGINIA WITTKE Dorothy Virginia Shelton Wittke age 83 died Sunday, April 21, 2013 at Baptist Memorial Hospital Golden Columbus. Services will be held Wednesday, April 24, 2013 at 11:00 AM at Bethel Baptist Church with Rev. Walter Butler and Rev. Bill Webb officiating, burial will follow at Friendship Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Memorial Funeral Home Tuesday, April 23, 2013 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Mrs. Wittke was born on Saturday, February 15, 1930 in Columbus to the late Everette Guy and Lillian Pearl Doughty Shelton. She was a longtime member, and former secretary of Bethel Baptist Church, where she was known to the children of the church as Spring Chicken or the Bible Lady . She was retired as a secretary for Cable One. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Gayron Anderson Wittke, Sr. Survivors include: One Daughter: Virginia Gail Rodgers, Columbus, MS Three Sons: Gayron A. Wittke, Jr. (Reatha), Columbus, MS Joseph Daniel Wittke, Springfield, VA Steven A. "Tony" Wittke (Becky) 7 Grandchildren, and 9 Great Grandchildren The Pallbearers will be: Rick Conner, Chris Pike, K.C. Threet, Nathan Watson, Alvin Bobo, Bill Robinson, and Walter Perringin The Honorary Pallbearers will be: Denny Rutherford, Dr. Cameron Huxford, Clay Wilkes, Ed Atkins, A.C. Hollis, and Henry Neal In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to: Bethel Baptist Church Music Fund 3216 Military Road Columbus MS 39705
