Louise White

May 5, 1914 — February 18, 2006

Bertie Louise White died on February 18, 2006, at Regency/Riley Hospital in Meridian, Mississippi from a heart attack. She had been in declining health for many years. Louise was born in Columbus on May 5, 1914. She was a class of 31 graduate of Lee High School. She attended elementary school at Demonstration. She is survived by her husband, Herbert H. White; children, Linda Wood of Saint Simons Island, Georgia, and Robert White of Arlington County, Virginia; grand children, Todd and Benjamin Wood of Georgia; and a niece, Diane Stephens Brodel of Yorktown, Virginia, and her son, Capt. Chad Brodel, USAF, of Denver, Colorado. She was preceded by a sister, Sadie Belle Stephens, and a brother, John Franklin Perkerson, Jr. Her parents were John Franklin Perkerson, Sr, and Emma Belle Love of Columbus. Her grandparents were Lowndes County pioneers. Her paternal grandparents were Aca A Perkerson and Mary Jane McCown of Caledonia. Her step grandmother was Elizabeth Savilla McCown. Her maternal grandparents were John Jefferson Love (Company A, 41st Alabama Inf., CSA) and Margaret Anna Ellis of Columbus. Louise was a caring and wonderful mother loved by her family. She was buried at Friendship Cemetery.
