HILDA BURNS - Hilda Maudie Burns, age 84, died April 19, 2010, at Select Specialty Hospital in Jackson, MS. Funeral services will be Wednesday, April 21, 2010, at 10;00 AM at Antioch Baptist Church with Dr. Edward Knox officiating. The interment will immediately follow at Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday, April 20, 2010, from 6:00-8:00 PM at Memorial Funeral Home. Mrs. Burns was born July 20, 1925 in Harriston, MS, to the late Thomas Jefferson and Susie Davis Sanders. She was a member of Antioch Baptist Church where she served as a Sunday School teacher for over 40 years. Mrs. Burns was a very devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, and in addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, T. J. Sanders, Joseph Sanders, and Robert Ray Sanders. Survivors include her husband of 56 years, Donald Wade Burns, Sr. of Columbus, MS, sons, Donald Wade Burns, Jr. of Hattiesburg, MS, Randy Burns of Natchez, MS, and Glen Burns and his wife Yvonne of Columbus, MS, brother, Eugene Sanders and his wife Elise of Harriston, MS, sisters, Rita Beasley and her husband Bennie of Fayette, MS, and Susie Harrigill and her husband Claude of Natchez, MS, sister-in-law, Betty Rae Sanders of Natchez, MS, grandchildren Heather "Nikki" Ellis and her husband John, Douglas Burns, and Alex Burns, and one great grandchild, Mason Ellis.
