Mrs. Weeta Merle Reid Cash, age 84, of Columbus, Miss., died Saturday, January 19, 2008, at Trinity Place Healthcare Center in Columbus, Miss. Arrangements have been entrusted to Memorial Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Monday, January 21, 2008 at Memorial Funeral Home. Her Funeral service will be held in the Chapel of Memorial Funeral Home at 10:00 AM Tuesday, January 22, 2008, with Rev. Joe Pate officiating. Interment will follow the service at Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Columbus, Miss. The daughter of the late Howard and Mildred Downs Reid, Mrs. Cash was born September 12, 1923 in New Albany, Ms. She was a long-time resident of Columbus and attended Fairview Baptist Church. She was a graduate of S. D. Lee Senior High School and later returned to work there as a dietician, retiring from the Columbus Municipal Shool District in 1982. She was predeceased by her parents and her husband, Rayford W. Cash, who died June 17, 1996. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Belinda and Dick Spann and three sisters Jena McDonald, Willeen Murray, and Wilda Wright (Billy), all of Columbus; her granddaughter Laura Catherine Yeatman (Luke), Madison, Ms and her grandson Will Spann, Columbus. Pallbearers will be Bob Boone, Phil Smith, Wayne Murray, Gary Murray, Craig Murray and Steve Chism. Honoray Pallbearers will be Don Johnson, Roy F. White, Jerry Owen and Mike Murray. Memorials may be made to Baptist Memorial Hospice, P.O. Box 1307, Columbus, Ms 39703 or to the donor's favorite charity.
