Hazel Rector McFerrin, age 92, died Saturday, August 22, 2009 at Sanctuary Hospice House in Tupelo MS. Graveside services will be held Tuesday, August 25, 2009 at 12:00 noon at Friendship Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Memorial Funeral Home Tuesday, August 25, 2009 from 10:00 AM until 11:30 AM. Mrs. McFerrin was born on Tuesday, June 19, 1917 in Steens, MS to the late David and Alice Henderson Rector. She was a member of the Columbus Church of Christ and a retired secretary and bookkeeper for Columbus Scrap Metal. Mrs. McFerrin also owned Columbus Catering Service and was a longtime member of the Business and Professional Women's Club. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Thomas L. McFerrin. Survivors include her two daughters Pamela McCarty (David), Lemoore, CA and Alicia Napoli (John),Piperton, TN; four Grandchildren Jason and Grant Napoli and Briana and Conor McCarty.
