Sidney R. Graham Age 80 died March 15, 2008 at his Residence in Columbus. Services will be held at Central United Methodist Church on Tuesday, March 18, 2008 at 2:00 PM with Rev. Prentiss Gordon Jr. Officiating burial will follow at Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be at Memorial Funeral Home on Monday, March 17, 2008 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Sidney was born on July 4, 1927 in Lamar County Alabama to the late Roy L. and Oma Duke Graham. He was a 60 year member of Central United Methodist Church where he on served various committees. He graduated from Millport High School, and the United States Merchant Marine Academy where he served until 1946 until he married Jean Mathis. He then resumed his military service in the United States Army with the occupation forces in Japan. In 1956 he served on the Governor's Staff of the State of Mississippi during the term of J. P. Coleman. He was a former board member of The Mississippi Methodist Hour for 16 years, a 32nd degree Mason, and a Shriner. He was a Gideon, past president of the Central United Methodist Men, the Columbus Lion's Club, and The Southern Upholsterers Jobbers Association. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sister Kitty Graham Taylor. survivors include: Wife-Jean Mathis Graham of Columbus, Miss. Daughter-Belvia Graham Rodgers (Charles) of DeWitt, Ark. Daughter-Barbara Graham Harlin (John) of Franklin, Tenn. Sister-Dorothy Graham Conley of Jacksonville, Ark. Sister-Jewel Graham Weldon of Columbus, Miss.
