Helen Elizabeth Cummings, age 82, died May 23, 2013 at OCH Regional Medical Center in Starkville, MS. Services for Mrs. Cummings will be 2:00 PM Sunday May 26, 2013 at East End Baptist Church with Dr. Albert Wilkerson officiating. Graveside immediately following the service at Memorial Gardens of Columbus with Memorial Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be 6 to 8 PM, Saturday, May 25, 2013 at Memorial Funeral Home. Mrs. Cummings was born December 17, 1930 in Leland, MS to the late Felix Randolph and Della Ellen Swain Arnold. She was a member of East End Baptist Church for 55 years where she sang joyfully in the choir for many years. Mrs. Cummings also served as Past State President, National Council Member and National Buddy Poppy Chairman of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary. Mrs. Cummings is survived by her husband, Al Cummings of Columbus, MS; daughter, Cheryl Barnhill of Acworth, GA; son, Tim Cummings (Carla) of Starkville, MS; grandchildren, Meredith Barnhill, Dane Holcomb (Boone), Gray Barnhill, Jenny Reynolds (Troy) and Chris Cummings (Kelsey); great-grandchildren, Hayes, Bo and Henry Holcomb. Pallbearers will be Chris Cummings, Gray Barnhill, Boone Holcomb, John Hillhouse, Jr., Travis Berry and John Poss. Honorary Pallbearers will be John Hillhouse, Sr., Sam Pilkington, Ernie Smith, Jerry Kendall, Mel Sharp, Jerry Harris and Charlie Upton.
