Barbara Mae Talley Oswalt, age 70, of Columbus, MS, passed away September 7, 2013, at Baptist Memorial Hospital. Graveside services will be Tuesday, September 10, 2013, at 10:00 AM at Memorial Gardens of Columbus with Rev. Jerome Key officiating. Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Oswalt was born September 14, 1942, in Philadelphia, MS, to the late Dalvin Otha and Evie Mae Barnett Talley. She was a graduate of S. D. Lee High School and member of Canaan Baptist Church. Mrs. Oswalt retired from the Center of Special Children of MUW. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Dalvin Otha Talley, Jr. and Robert Gene Talley. Survivors include her husband, John F. Oswalt of Columbus, MS, daughters, Sherry O. Garmon and her husband Richard of Steens, MS, Lisa Oswalt of Columbus, MS, Lori O. Blackston and her husband Garry of Columbus, MS, and Robbin Oswalt of Columbus, MS, sisters, Sherry Ann VanHorn of Austin, TX, and Evie Marie Costilow of Columbus, MS, brothers, Jimmy Dan Talley of Columbus, MS, and Sammy Joe Talley of Hamilton, AL, 8 grandchildren and 7 great great grandchildren.
