MARY G. JOHNSON Mary Green Johnson age 97 died Thursday, May 26, 2011 at Trinity Healthcare Center in Columbus. Graveside services will be held Friday, May 27, 2011 at 4:00 PM at Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery with Ray Crane officiating. Mrs. Johnson was born on Saturday, September 16, 1913 in Lamar County, AL to the late John Thomas and Lavania Atkins Green Sr. She was a member of First Freewill Baptist Church which has since dissolved, and a retired inspector for Seminole Manufacturing. Mrs. Johnson loved to cook and entertain family and friends. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Seburn O. Johnson and her brothers, Thomas Oakley, Lester, Maxwell, Durwood Gunter, Aubrey Dee, J.T. Jr, and John Woodfin Green. Survivors include: A host of nieces and nephews. The Honorary Pallbearers will be: Dr. James Woodard and the staff of Trinity Retirement Community. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Trinity Healthcare 230 Airline Road Columbus, MS 39702, or Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery Fund 1791 Lake Lowndes Road Columbus, MS 39702 or a charity of your choice.
