Franklin B. Liebling, age 62, of Columbus, died Thursday, September 1, 2011 at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo, Ms. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Memorial Funeral Home. Services will be Sunday, September 4, 2011 at 3:00 PM at Memorial Funeral Home, with Rev. Gene OBrien officiating. Burial will immediately follow in Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1:00 PM until the time of the service. The son of the late Bernard and Lucille Marie Lovett Liebling, Frank was born in Chicago, IL September 12, 1948. He was a graduate of the University of Mississippi, where he played football. He received his Law degree from Mississippi College School of Law and a Masters of Accountancy from the University of Oklahoma, where he also served as an assistant under Coach Barry Switzer. He also received a German law degree from the University of Heidelberg, Germany. He was an attorney, practicing in Tupelo and Columbus. He was a veteran of Vietnam, serving in the US Marine Corps, and he attended New Covenant Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife Tammy Woolbright Liebling of Columbus, his brother-in-law Kenneth Woolbright and his wife Allison and his beloved nieces Alex, Meredith, Kensley, and Annie. Pallbearers will be Judge Tommy Gardner, Dom Flores, Jim Parker, Jimmy Dorman, Larry Ferguson and David Clements. Honorary pallbearers will be Former Gov. Bill Allain, William L. Tuggle, Rowland Geddie, David Van Every, Danny Smith, Jimmy Doug Shelton, Dennis Ferris and Karl Stumboll. Memorials May be made to the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 16808, Jackson, Ms 39236 or to the American Diabetes Association, 16 Northtown Dr., Jackson, Ms 39211.
