Annie Mae Walker Gibson, age 98, died Tuesday, January 24, 2012 at Vineyard Court Nursing Center in Columbus. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Memorial Funeral Home. Graveside services will be Friday, January 27, 2012 at 10:00 AM at Friendship Cemetery with Pastor Kenny Gardner officiating. Mrs. Gibson was the daughter of the late Rufus Milton and Martha Louella Welch Walker and was born October 1, 1913 in Pickens County, AL. She was a longtime resident of Columbus and a member of Woodland Baptist Church and the Ruth Sunday School Class. She was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers, three sisters and her husband Turner K. Gibson, who died in 1985. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Johnny E. and Annie Ruth Gibson, her grandson Scott Gibson, all of Columbus, and many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her special friends Sue Swain , Joy Landrum, and the ladies of the Faith and Ruth Sunday School Classes, all who were her loving caregivers at her home and at Vineyard Court.
