Ruby Wilene Weeks, age 90, of Columbus, Miss., died Friday, March 14, 2008, at Pioneer Community Hospital in Aberdeen, Miss. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Memorial Funeral Home. Visitation was held from 2:00pm to 3:00pm Sunday, March 16, 2008 . Chaplain Harlon Smith had a family prayer at the funeral home at the conclusion of visitation. Graveside services were held at Walnut Grove Cemetery in Lamar County, Al at 4:00pm, with the Rev. Father Jeffrey W. Reich officiating. Interment was also at Walnut Grove. She was the daughter of the late Ruben and Edna Jessie Gordon Bowman and was born August 2, 1917 in Lamar County, Al. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Weeks was predeceased by her husband, Shelton Weeks; son Bobby Lynn Bennett; sisters Sybil Cole and Irene Godsey; and brothers Olen, Lester and Robert Bowman. Mrs. Weeks was the owner and operator of the Hwy. 12 Bait Shop in Columbus for many years. She is survived by her Daughter, Joanne Carlisle of Aberdeen, Ms.; grandson Mitchell Livingston(Beth), Amory, Ms.; granddaughter Tanya Fryor (William) , New Albany, Ms.; step grandson, Robert Comer, Tuscaloosa, Al.; step granddaughter ,Cindy Prestage, Vernon, Al., and 9 great grandchildren. Memorials may be made to the donor's favorite charity.
