Herbert Harper White, father of Robert (Arlington County, VA) and Linda (St Simons Island, GA), passed away on May 4, 2007. He was 92 years old. Herbert was predeceased by his wife of 68 years Louise Perkerson White. He is also survived by two grandsons, Todd Wood (Jacksonville, FL) and Benjamin Wood (Marietta, GA). His parents were the late Irby Cole White and Sadie Harper White. His grandparents were pioneers to Noxubee and Lowndes counties. Louisville was has birthplace. A viewing will be held at 2 pm, May 8, 2007, at Memorial Funeral Home. Graveside services will be at 4 pm, same day, at Friendship cemetery. Prior to World War II, Herbert was with Sears Roebuck & Company. During the war, he served at Gulf Ordinance Plant, Aberdeen. After the war, he was with EC Blackstone & company (Memphis), and 30 years with Mississippi Wholesale Company (Columbus) until retirement.
