BYRDIE MCCOOL Byrdie Ruth Boone McCool, age 59, of Columbus, MS, passed away November 10, 2011, at her residence. Funeral services will be Saturday, November 12, 2011, at 2:00 PM at First Pentecostal Church with Rev. Steve Blaylock officiating. The interment will immediately follow at Friendship Cemetery. Visitation will also be Saturday, November 12, 2011, from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM at First Pentecostal Church. Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. McCool was born April 4, 1952, in Columbus, MS, to the late William Lewis and Cordie Flake Boone. She was a lifeling resident of Columbus and graduate of S. D. Lee High School. Mrs. McCool retired from Seminole Manufacturing having worked there for over 30 years. She was a member of First Pentecostal Church where she was a former Sunday School teacher, and where her late mother, Cordie Flake McCool, was a founding member. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers, Steve and Jack Boone, and sisiter, Cornelia Williams. Survivors include her husband, Raymond L. McCool of Columbus, MS, son, Sterling McCool and his wife Misty of Starkville, MS, daughter, Cassie Lauren McCool of Columbus, MS, brothers, Jimmy Boone and his wife Nell of Columbus, MS, William Boone of Columbus, MS, and Gary Boone and his wife Sylvia of Caledonia, MS, aunts, Peggy Cox and her husband Charles of Mobile, AL, Betty Miles and Ann Nowell, both of Noxapater, MS, and uncles, Earnest Flake and his wife Brenda of Louisville, MS, and Morris Boone of Columbus, MS. Pallbearers will be Jerry Taylor, Danny Boone, Scott Boone, Matt Boone, Steven Boone, Joe Riley Thomason, and Michael McCool. Honorary pallbearers will be Earnest Flake, Morris Boone, Tim Taylor, Royce Taylor, Willie Joe Thomason, Bruce McCool, and the men of First Pentecostal Church.
