COLUMBUS - Carol Burch Williamson, 65, died Wednesday Sept. 1, 2010, at Baptist Memorial Hospital"Golden Triangle in Columbus. Carol was born April 12, 1945 to the late Mr. and Mrs. J. Ralph Burch in Columbus MS. Carol graduated from Lee High School in 1963 and from Mississippi College for Women in 1968 with a Bachelors of Science in Education. She taught school at Steens, MS for several years. After that she worked primarily in retail with Wool-Co, McRaes and lastly at Wal-Mart for 20+ years. While at Wal-Mart Carol received many weekly and quarterly Sales Associate awards. Carol resided in Columbus for most of her adult life. She was an avid reader and her hobbies included crochet and clipping coupons. Carols greatest love outside of her family was for those in need. Carol loved all of Gods people. She spearheaded numerous charitable events at work, and in the community. Carol supported charities such as Le Bonheur, Palmer Home, American Cancer Society, American Red Cross and others. Carol is survived by her son and his wife Major and Mrs. J. Michael Williamson and their son Nathan P. Williamson. She is also survived by her niece and daughter Mrs. Elizabeth Tcimpidis, her best friend Ms. Linda McKenzie and many other wonderful friends and family. Her Memorial Service will be held Saturday September 11, 2010 at 10 a.m. at Caledonia First Baptist Church with Bro. Charles Young and Mike Dalton officiating. Address 5450 Cal-Kolola Rd, Caledonia, MS. After the service there will be refreshments and food to celebrate Carols life at the church. Carol requested that memorial donations be made to charities that fill your heart personally, if you do not have one she requested funds go to Le Bonheur Foundation, P.O. Box 41817, Memphis, TN 38174-1817 or her church Caledonia First Baptist Church.Carol has left this earth to be with her loving Father, she left these verses highlighted which sums up her life outlook; Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself.
