Frank Ervine "Dusty" Hankinson, III Age 82 died February 28, 2008 at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo, MS Services will be held at Episcopal Church of Good Shepherd on Monday, March 3, 2008 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Sandra DePriest Officiating. Burial, with military honors, will follow at Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be at Memorial Funeral Home on Sunday, March 2, 2008 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM Mr. Hankinson was born on August 15, 1925 in College Park, GA to the late Frank E. and Nina Neely Hankinson Jr. He was a member of the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd ,a graduate of College Park High School in College Park GA, and Georgia Tech. Mr. Hankinson was a U.S. Army Veteran having served during WWII., and he was awarded the Purple Heart for his bravery and actions in combat. He came to Columbus in 1962 to work at Mississippi State College for Women as assistant comptroller, and later was made comptroller. He later worked for the Commercial Dispatch for 4 years before beginning a career with the Mississippi State Department of Agriculture as an Inspector, retiring in 1990. He was a member of The Columbus Chapter #66 Order of the Easter Star, F& AM Lodge #5, and York Rites. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Gloria Victoria Brooks Hankinson. Hankinson, IV (Charlotte) of Richland, Miss. Son-Ron Morris (Linda) of Conyers, Ga. daughter-in-law-Barbara Hankinson of Florence, S.C.
