NELL SUDDUTH Alva Nell Sudduth, loving mother, sister, daughter, nurse and faithful friend passed away on Tuesday, January 4, 2010 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Columbus, Mississippi. Nell was born on August 23, 1935 in Leland, Mississippi. Nell is survived by her son, Britt Sudduth and wife, Elizabeth of Kiln, Mississippi, her loving mother, Lois Haynes of Columbus, Mississippi, her sister, Beverly Shelton and husband, Phillip of Southaven, Mississippi, her brothers, Joe Guest and wife, Rebecca of Hixson, Tennessee, Steve Guest of Hinton, Oklahoma, and step-brother, J.W. Haynes of Salt Lake City, Utah, six grandchildren, Haley, Lauren, Hunter, Carly, Carson and Aidan, and one great-grandaughter, Kendall Heath, one niece, Crystal Shelton, two nephews, Phillip Shelton and Jerry Guest, one special aunt, Nell Kyle. Nell also had numerous loving aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and family. Nell was preceded in death by her son, Scott Sudduth, her father, Alva Guest, step-father, Wallace Haynes and brother, Butch Guest. Nell was a college graduate of Mississippi College in 1960 with a degree in Nursing. Nell dedicated her life to helping others and had a nursing career that spanned fifty years. Her love of travel and a constant quest for knowledge was an inspiration to all who had ever crossed her path. Nell was a member of Shaeffer's Chapel, United Methodist Church. Visitation will be held on Friday, January 7, 2010 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Gunter & Peel Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 8, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Gunter & Peel Chapel with Pastor Curtis Bray officiating. Interment will immediately follow at Friendship Cemetery.
