Nora Frances Bourland Gross, age 86, of Columbus, Miss., died Wednesday, August 1, 2007, at Daughter's Residence in Columbus, Miss. Arrangements are being handled by Memorial Funeral Home, where the family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Friday, August 3, 2007. Her Funeral service will be at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel at 10:00 AM Saturday, August 4, 2007, with Rev. Ron Thomas and Chaplain Steve Brown officiating. Interment will follow at Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Columbus. The daughter of the late Jesse Allen and Frances Easter Bourland, Mrs. Gross was born in Aberdeen, Ms and graduated from high school there. She had been a resident of Columbus since 1962, having moved over 50 times with her husband who was in the Air Force before moving for the last time to Columbus. She was a member of Broadacres United Methodist Church and had been very active in her church before she became ill. After her husband's retirement from the Air Force, Mr. and Mrs. Gross enjoyed camping and traveling and were associated with several travel clubs. Mrs. Gross was preceded in death buy her parents, her husband, Virgil Lee Gross, her daughter, Phyllis Gross Shelton and one grandson, Jeffrey Shelton. She is survived by her daughter Karen Gibson (Jerry) Columbus, Ms her son Billy Gross (Connie) Portland, Tn 9 Grandchildren: Spencer Allen Gross, Charlene Whitford (Darrel), Frank Galinsky, Bobby Galinsky, Jennifer Taylor, Jerry Shelton, Susan Foster (Jody), Roman Gibson and Skyler Gibson, 11 Great Grandchildren, and 5 Great Great Grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Darrel Whitford, Kolby Andrews, Bobby Galinsky, Roman Gibson, Billy Smith and David Van Every. Honorary Pallbearers will be the Critical Care Staff at Baptist Memorial Hospital, Heart-to-heart Hospice Staff, Dr. James Woodard, Marie Whitfield, Pat Dixon, and Ann Temple. Memorials in Mrs. Grosss name may be made to Broadacres United Methodist Church, 618 31st Avenue North, Columbus, Ms 39705 or Heart-to-Heart Hospice, 122 North Jackson, Starkville, Ms 39759 or the donors favorite charity.
