Shirley Frances Sennett Hughes age 71, died June 22, 2014 at Baptist Memorial Hospital. Funeral Services will be 10:00 am, Thursday, June 26, 2014 at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Jimmy Ray officiating. Interment will follow at Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-8 pm Wednesday, June 25, 2014 at Memorial Funeral Home. Mrs. Hughes was born September 29, 1942 in Winston County, MS to the late Vallie and Mavis Eaves Sennett. She was a member of McBee Baptist Church and loved her rose garden and to crochet. She worked for 17 years at Dairy Fresh, then at Gentiva Home Health. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William T. Hughes and her infant son, Larry Phelps. Shirley is survived by her son, Kenny Phelps "Deb" of Columbus, MS; daughter, Terrie Creecy "James" of Columbus, MS; stepson, Jerry Hughes of Foley, AL; brother, Buddy Sennett "Rita" of Fultondale, AL; sister, Dale Bollinger of Bruce, MS; grandchildren, Jesse Creecy "Erica", Toni Creecy, Frank Creecy and Brian Phelps; great grandchild, Maddi Rei Dennis. Pallbearers will be Jesse Creecy, Frank Creecy, Brian Lutton, Nate Cunningham, Keith Bollinger, Karl Bollinger, Brian Phelps & Jason Sennett. Memorials may be made to Shriners Children Hospital; 3100 Samford Avenue; Shreveport, LA 71103.
