Marguerite Dickert Creekmore

Marguerite Dickert Creekmore , Age 93, formerly of Columbus, died Wednesday, June 3, 2009 from a massive heart attack at Capital Region Medical Center in Jefferson City, MO . Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Memorial Funeral Home. Visitation will be held at Memorial Funeral Home on Sunday, June 7, 2009 from 1:00 PM to 2:30 PM. Graveside services will follow at 3:00PM at Memorial Gardens Cemetery on Sunday, June 7, 2009 with Rev. Jerry Zgarba, officiating. The daughter of the late James W. and Mattie Glenn Dailey Creekmore, Mrs. Creekmore was born January 3, 1916 in Echola, Al. She was married in West Point in 1943 to John H. Creekmore, who died in June, 1965. She was a former member of Immanuel Baptist Church and worked at The Bake Shop after her husband's death. She also served as a hostess/ greeter during visitations at Memorial Funeral Home. She had been a resident of Jefferson City, Mo since May, 1987, where she was a member of Concord Baptist Church. She loved to sew and garden. In addition to her parents and her husband, John H. Creekmore, she was also preceded in death by her sister Nell Stark. She is survived by her son Douglas Hicks of Tampa, Fl, daughters Virginia Mapp (James) of Brooksville, Ms and Susan May of Jefferson City, Mo. and her sister Eloise Dickert of Springfield, Mo. She is also survived by her grandchildren Melanie Hines (Walter), Jim Mapp, John Mapp (Leslie), Kevin Hicks, and Pamela Lantry(Sean) ,seven great grandchildrenand several nieces and nephews. The pallbearers will be Walter Hines, Jim Mapp, James Mapp, John Mapp, Matthew Tucker and Sam Heard.
